SEVERAL Anti-vaccination protesters who attempted to “serve legal papers” to ex-Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer are alleged to have dropped them off at the wrong house, according to those that used to live near to the former footballer.
Shearer, who adorned himself as a North East hero for his playing days at Newcastle, appeared to urge people to get the booster in a video promoted by the Premier League last week.
In the clip, Shearer said: “We all want to keep safe on a matchday and the best way we can protect ourselves and other people is to get vaccinated.”

This stance from the ex-toon legend led anti-vaccination protesters to film themselves yesterday (December 22) outside an address near Newcastle which they believed to be his family home.
In the video, which was shared to Twitter, three men and a woman, plus someone recording the scene, gathered outside a gated property and after pressing an intercom system, one of them posted ‘legal’ documents into an external letterbox.
At this time, it’s unclear what the papers contained, but anti-vaccination protesters routinely share templates of supposed legal documents which they film themselves depositing, including a group who visited the house of broadcaster Jeremy Vine and various hospitals across the UK.
During the clip, the man who posted the documents says: “Everyone is going to get this, every celebrity, sick of you.
“Just causing more trouble for us, lies, all lying.
“That’s the truth in that letterbox there, in Alan Shearer’s f****** house.”
Despite the claims about the property belonging to Shearer, one commenter on the social media video suggested the ex-footballer no longer lived at the property.
And a local person, who has viewed the video, told the PA News agency: “That’s an old address they have for him.”
Northumbria Police said it had no current involvement in the incident when the police force was contacted for comment.
