WITH temperatures dropping across the board, people are growing more and more hopeful for a white Christmas this year - the Met Office have revealed if snow will fall this Christmas day.
The weather forecaster has predicted another cloudy day tomorrow, with “poor visibility” at times, particularly over high-ground.

However, milder temperatures have been predicted for Thursday with a maximum temperature of 8c and some drier weather possible towards the south.
Looking ahead to the weekend, The Met Office have predicted cloudy weather with “light rain on Christmas Eve, with snow possible over hills.”
The forecaster has predicted drier weather for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, however it will feel cold “with a fresh breeze” and there is “low confidence in drier weather.”
The full forecast for the weekend reads: “Cloudy with light rain on Christmas Eve, snow possible over hills.
“Drier for Christmas Day and Boxing Day, but feeling cold with a fresh breeze. Low confidence in drier weather.”
However, one weather forecaster – netweather- has predicted a 72 per cent chance of snow for the North East on Christmas Day between 3am to 9am, meaning many could wake up to a blanket of the white stuff.
According to the Met Office long-range forecast between December 26 and January 4, northern areas could see some light rain or snow in some locations.
The full long range forecast reads: “This period remains somewhat uncertain in detail, but generally sees a split between colder air to the north and milder air to the south.
“Snow showers are looking to continue across far northern areas, with perhaps some mainly light rain or snow for southern locations.

“To the south, mild, unsettled weather, with rain and occasional strong winds. To the north more settled conditions with brighter spells and perhaps some frost or ice.
“Feeling very cold in brisk northeasterly winds for many. Along the boundary, potential for significant weather with snow likely at times in addition to possibly strong winds.
“Becoming colder than average heading into January with any unsettled, milder spells most likely for the west and south.”
