A HEAD shave took place on Darlington's High Row last weekend to raise money for a cancer charity.
Cyndi Hughes, Mayor of Darlington, shaved a local hairdresser’s head last weekend in aid of Maggie's Centres.
Robert Younger has been a hairdresser in Darlington for 35 years and wanted to raise money for this charity as he has had many clients over the years who have undergone cancer treatment.

Cyndi Hughes said: “Robert is such a kind, caring and practical person. His brave decision to have his lovely curls shaved off to raise funds to support Maggie’s Centres will be a truly wonderful Christmas gift to people in our area undergoing cancer treatment.”
Mr Younger said: “I have had many clients who have battled cancer, sadly passed away or are currently undergoing treatment. My hair will grow back, but for those affected after breast cancer, things are not that easy.”
Maggie’s Centres is a charity offering support to cancer patients built alongside NHS hospitals that provide support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
