CLEVELAND Fire tackled a large house fire last night.

The Fire Brigade attended a fire to an unoccupied property in Hartlepool.

Four fire engines including an ariel platform attended from Hartlepool, Billingham and Saltburn at 10.30pm.

One jet and one hose reel were used, and two breathing apparatus wearers and thermal image camera.

Residents were evacuated from neighbouring properties in Burbank Street.

It was reported that the fire burnt the roof of the property, which was a terraced house.

Crime scene investigation is at the scene assessing the cause.
