A SECOND street in a Teesside town has been cordoned off by police and people have been evacuated from their homes.
Officers attended Hartington Road in Stockton at 9.42am this morning and some residents were evacuated.
A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and remains in custody.
Yarm Lane was later closed and the bomb squad was called amid concerns about an item left in a property.

A spokesperson from Cleveland Police said: "Police have remained at the scene due to concerns about an item in a property which - as a precaution - will now be assessed.
"A number of people in close proximity have been asked to leave their properties, again as a precaution. Officers have spoken to all those affected.
"This is an ongoing matter which is being carefully managed and we’d encourage people to follow any advice they were given by officers at the scene."
Yarm Lane in Stockton was closed off by police after Hartington Road was closed earlier in the day.
The bomb squad is now on the scene and other emergency services are also in the area blocking off Yarm Lane, including police vans and the fire service.

This comes after earlier today Hartington Road was cordoned off and a man was arrested for possessing a bladed article.
It has now emerged that the incidents are connected.
