AN A road has reopened after it was closed this morning for accident investigators examine the scene of a crash which happened overnight.
The A64 was shut both ways from Whinny Lane (Bossall turn-off) to the Stamford Bridge turn-off, near Malton, North Yorkshire.
It is understood the crash involved a van and a car.
The A64 had been closed in both directions between Claxton Hall and Flaxton Moor, with a diversion in place via Claxton.
Traffic between York and Pickering was affected and motorists were asked to avoid the area if possible.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said the road has recently reopened.
