A WOMAN stabbed 31-times by her six foot six ex-partner after he barged his way into her home told jurors she was pinned to the ground during the attack.
Amy Johnson suffered multiple stab wounds to her neck, shoulders, chest, stomach and thighs before managing to lock herself in the bathroom and call 999, the court heard.
Christopher Blakemore is charged with attempted murder following the incident on October 13, 2019, at her home on Marske Lane, Bishopsgarth, Stockton.
Jurors sitting at Teesside Crown Court watched Miss Johnson give her version of events in a police video interview from her hospital bed just days after suffering a punctured lung and a knife wound through her wrist.
She told the police that the defendant turned up at her back door asking for money and when she turned him away he lost his temper, forced his way into her home before knocking her to the ground and stabbing her.
"I don't know whether I slipped in blood on the floor and then Chris just came in again and started stabbing me while I was on the floor," she said. "He kept pushing my head to get at my neck but I kept putting my hand up and it went into my arm.
"It was all a bit blurry but I remember my son being on the stairs and he was above me just stabbing me."
When asked what she thought would happen, she replied: "I thought I'm going to die, this is it, he's going to kill me now."
Under cross examination from defence barrister, Francis Fitzgibbon QC, Miss Johnson denies she was the one who had the knife and Blakemore had stabbed her 31-times in self-defence.
Blakemore, of Ammerston Road, Middlesbrough, pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm.
The trial continues.
