A CAMPAIGN has been launched to reunite a giant England supporters’ flag with a set of local supporters.

The flag, with a club logo and ‘Yarm-on-Tees’ across the middle, was found after England played at Wembley Stadium during the Euros in July earlier this year.

London-based property developers Avanton now want to reunite it with its owners and sent it to Tees Valley Major Ben Houchen in hope of handing re-uniting it with its owner.

Mr Houchen said: “I’m hoping we’ll be able to reunite this flag with its rightful owner so that it can be displayed proudly at future England games.

“Football might not have come home this year, but I really hope we’ll be able to find this flag’s home.”

Omer Weinberger, chief executive of Avanton, added: “I’m delighted that Avanton are able to play a part in returning this flag to Yarm where it belongs, rather than staying in Central London.”

If you’re the owner of the flag, or know who is, you can get in touch by emailing mayor@teesvalley-ca.gov.uk.
