THE Darlington Christmas Lights Switch on is currently underway in the town centre.
The free event started at 4pm and featured live music and a special guest appearance from Troy Williamson a boxer from the town
.
With the help of Santa, Troy, did the honours of switching the lights on.
Fire performers also wowed the audience.

There were also games, competitions and street theatre.
And of course, the special appearance of Santa on his sleigh and his elves.
The event was held in the Market Square.
Local singers, the Darlington voice choir also performed.
Hundreds flocked to the event not put off by the rain.
Steve and Karen from Metro Radio were due to host the event but could not attend as they were waiting for PCR results.
