A MURDER trial has been temporarily delayed after some people connected to the case showed symptoms of Covid.
Alexander Layton is accused of stabbing James Stokoe following a road-rage row when the defendant walked out in front of the alleged victim's BMW.
The 40-year-old bled to death in his BMW following the angry confrontation on Trenchard Avenue, Thornaby, on May 15 last year, Teesside Crown Court heard.
Jurors heard how the 34-year-old pulled the large knife out of a rucksack and stabbed his victim while he was sitting in the driver’s seat with his young son on a booster seat in the rear.
Layton, of Shackleton Close, Thornaby, denies murder.
The trial is expected to resume on Monday subject to further Covid testing.
