TWO people have been arrested after a man is believed to have been injured with a bladed weapon.

It was reported to have happened on Thursday night in the Newcomen Terrace area of Redcar.

At about 8.40pm it was reported a man was believed to have suffered an injury from a blade.

Police attended, including armed response officers.

On arrival at the scene there was no injured man present and officers immediately carried out searches of the area.

Police are continuing to make enquiries to establish the circumstances of what happened and to locate a potential victim.

A man aged 41 and a woman aged 45 have been arrested in connection with the incident.

They were in police custody on Friday.

Anyone with information, or anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage is asked to call Cleveland Police on the 101 number, using the reference 196731.
