A PAIR of twins will have to wait until next month to learn their fate.

Tyrone and Thomas Hornby were due to be sentenced for their respective roles in a violent attack on a motorist after they dragged him out of his Ford Fiesta and stabbed him.

They were both charged with wounding with intent, robbery and possession of a sharp or bladed article in a public place.

Thomas Hornby was also charged dangerous driving.

The 23-year-olds appeared at Teesside Crown Court in custody via a videolink for the short hearing.

The driver was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton for treatment for his stab wound, before being transferred to Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital.

The incident happened at around 9.30am on July 24 in the Hardwick area of Stockton.

Police cordoned off an area of Etherley Walk while forensic investigations were carried out.

Judge Timothy Stead adjourned the case to allow time for pre-sentence reports to compiled to assess the 'dangerousness' of the defendants.

Both men were remanded back into custody.

The brothers, of Ibstone Walk, Stockton, will return to court on December 9 for sentence.
