Further information on the return of a popular fireworks display will outline how the much-anticipated event will take place.
Darlington Council confirmed the popular annual event will return to South Park in November for the first time in 11 years, which aims to bring the borough’s communities together for live music, food stalls, competitions and a colourful fireworks show.
And in a social media post on Monday, Darlington council leader Jonathan Dulston told residents that work is underway and to expect an announcement soon.
However, nearby displays continue to attract criticism from residents who complain of the loud noises and safety issues caused by them.
Last year, Darlington council was urged to take steps to limit the impact of fireworks on people with autism, war veterans suffering post-traumatic stress disorder and animals.

In a previous post on social media, councillor Jonathan Dulston outlined the council's ambition to host the display again.
He said: "I’ve just come back from Stockton fireworks and the amount of people I have seen from Darlington has absolutely confirmed that bringing the fireworks back is a must!
"The countdown has begun, the planning has started and I promise it will be bigger and better than ever before.
"Silent Fireworks and light displays are also being explored to get the balance right and make it as pet friendly as possible."
