IMAGES reveal the devastation on the beaches on the North East coast, with dead fish and crabs washing up on the shores.
Beachgoers in Seaton Carew, Redcar, Marske, and Saltburn have been reporting dead crabs washing up over the shores.
Experts are concerned by the devastation, however, it is not known what is causing the crabs to die.
Crabs live in shallower waters in the summer and then move to deeper waters in the winter.

This leaves them prone to storms and rough weather in the summer which could be a factor in explaining why they are washing up on the beaches.
Environmentalists have also put forward theories of pollution, dredging on the Tees and disease as possible causes.
The Environment Agency has taken samples from the beach to find out the cause of death.
