A GAME to get people active in a North East town has proved popular with 14,000 people signing up.
The Beat the Street challenge taking place in Middlesbrough enters its Go Active themed week on Wednesday, October 27, to encourage participants to find new activities and sports to try out.
The idea is that people will find something that they might not have tried before to help them continue to keep up their new active habits.
More than 14,000 people have signed up to play the free Beat the Street Middlesbrough physical activity game and have together walked, cycled, wheeled, run and scooted an incredible 67,000 miles so far in the competition.

This week, participants can earn double points on Beat Boxes 119 and 125 at the Parkrun at Albert Park on Saturday morning, and also at the Junior Parkrun on Sunday, October 31 on Beat Boxes 74 and 75 at Hemlington Lake, where there is also the opportunity to win one of 20 family swim vouchers at the finish line.
Anyone of any age is invited to take part in the Beat the Street Middlesbrough game can get involved now by picking up a card from one of the distribution points at: beatthestreet.me/middlesbrough.

The Go Active themed week is a celebration of all the ways you can get moving in and around the area and a fabulous opportunity to try out something new without any pressure.”
