FRIENDS of teenager Jack Woodley have shared footage of him enjoying himself in the hours before he was fatally injured.

The 18-year-old was allegedly stabbed during an altercation in Houghton-le-Spring on Saturday, October 16.

He underwent surgery but sadly died in hospital the following day.

Jack, who grew up in Newton Aycliffe but had been living in Sunderland more recently, had been at the Houghton Feast funfair with his girlfriend and other friends on the night he was hurt.

Mum Zoey McGill said: "They went to the fun fair and I have videos of him there. They are heart-breaking.

"I have rang him at half eight and he was happy. He said it was ‘class’. He said 'Mam, can you send us some more money?’

“He asked for £5 for the last ride.

"We have got a video of him on the ride just having fun.”

Mrs McGill said she was touched by the video tributes friends have shared in memory of Jack, which show them holding a balloon release.

One TikTok video carries the moving words: "You party hard up there.

"God only takes the best.

"You were loved by so many Jack."

It shows him laughing and smiling, enjoying a swing ride and friend releasing dozens on blue balloons.
