A YOUNG man caught drink driving a rented E-scooter on a busy A-road has been fined hundreds and banned from the roads by magistrates.
Harry George Wilson, 20, was caught riding the rental E-scooter on the A1079 Hull Road in York on September 30 this year.

A breath test revealed he had 54mg of alcohol in his breath – the legal limit is 35mg.

Wilson, of Commercial Street, Settle, pleaded guilty before North Yorkshire Magistrates at York on Monday to driving a motor vehicle over the prescribed alcohol limit.
He was banned from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12-months and fined £400.
Along with court costs and charges, he must pay a total of £525 at a rate of £55 per month.
