Atom bank, the Durham-based fintech, is taking on more staff as it hits a £1bn landmark.
The company has now loaned £1bn to SMEs through Atom’s own secured lending and also the bank’s ongoing partnership with Funding Circle to provide unsecured loans.
Edward Twiddy, Chief Customer Officer, said: “It’s been a really successful year for Atom, delivering our first month of operating profit in June, surpassing the £3bn mark in mortgage lending in July and reaching £1bn of deposits into Atom’s Instant Saver product too.
“We were delighted to have made the 1,000th secured loan to an SME customer earlier this summer and now, passing the £1bn mark in SME lending is another significant milestone that we can check off.
The bank is also recruiting for more than 40 roles at its Durham head office, as part of its commitment to bring career opportunities to the North East, and develop a strong tech culture in the region.
More than 400 people currently work for the Aykley Heads-based fintech, which is growing significantly and is now looking for a range of new staff.
Among the roles on offer are full-time and part-time Customer Support Agent positions, sitting within Atom’s operations team, which is the first point of contact for customers and also the starting point for those wishing to build their career at the company.
Benefits include a starting salary of £20,000, plus annual share options, a pension scheme and private medical insurance for employees and family.
Other roles on offer include a range of analyst, engineering and architect roles, as well as project managers, lending specialists and PR and internal communications managers.
Applications are open now and deadlines vary, with Customer Support Agent applications closing on Friday.
