A PERVERT who preyed on a young boy at a Halloween party has been jailed.
Chris Bostock plied the 12-year-old with booze before luring him upstairs on the pretence to watch Youtube videos.
Instead of showing innocent videos the 36-year-old showed the youngster pornography before taking him into the bathroom and sexually assaulting the boy.
Teesside Crown Court heard how Bostock's left his victim trying to 'stab himself to death' as a result of the attack in November 2018.
Judge Jonathan Carroll told the defendant that his actions had caused a degree of 'psychological torture for three years' after he initial denied the charges and trial was listed.
The court heard how the boy’s sister and a girl cousin found them in a bedroom in a state of undress, and the sister told their mother what they had witnessed.
She persuaded him to write down what had happened and she handed it to the police
Paul Cleasby, prosecuting, read out a victim impact statement in which the boy said that he had stabbed himself several times with a knife and that he wanted to die.
Richard Herrmann, representing Bostock, said: "He simply finds it difficult to come to terms with the way he offended.
“Significant work needs to be done with the defendant which illustrates the management that needs to be done.”
The judge told Bostock:”It must be every parent’s nightmare, a child of that age and stage of life, to fall into the predatory hands off somebody like you.
“This family has been under a degree of psychological torture for a number of years. You could have reduced that pain considerably if you had admitted earlier what you had done.
“You showed a very clear state of mind that thou should be allowed to slip away for what you did
“That child wanted to kill himself and his family were at their wits end.”
Bostock , of Bolckow Street, Guisborough, was jailed for 18 months and ordered to register as a Sex Offender for ten Years, with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten Years and a lifetime restraining order banning him from contact with the family after he pleaded guilty to sexual assault on a child under 13.
