RESIDENTS at a North Yorkshire care home joined in the celebrations to mark Roald Dahl Day.
Residents celebrated the birthday of the prolific writer, who is known for penning many popular children's books including Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the BFG, Fantastic Mr Fox and James and the Giant Peach to name a few.
The writer was also known to write books and short stories for adults, often with a twist in the tale.
Residents got involved in a variety of fun-filled activities, including a cinema experience afternoon watching Willy Wonka.
Ashley Bulmer, deputy manager at Boroughbridge Manor said: “We have many book lovers living here and they have agreed that Roald Dahl was an exceptional story teller. Everyone really enjoyed talking about their favourite characters from his books.”
Tony, a resident at Boroughbridge, said: "I remember reading Roald Dahl’s books when I was growing up and they are still as popular today, he really was incredible."
