ALDI is having a huge recruitment drive across its stores in the North East and North Yorkshire – and you could earn up to 40k a year as a result.
The UK’s fifth largest supermarket is looking for assistant store managers and store assistants across its stores in the North East and North Yorkshire.

Assistant store managers can earn from £32,830 to £40,035 a year at the supermarket chain whereas store assistants can earn between £9.55 and £10.57 an hour.
According to the job listing on the Aldi website the assistant manager role is “about helping to run a multi-million-pound store, while motivating and developing a diverse and talented team.
“One day could find you supporting the Store Manager with sorting out deliveries, placing orders or dealing with customers queries.
“The next, you might be focused on people management and performance or organising holiday rotas for the team.”

Aldi say assistant store managers need to be “an experienced people-manager, used to leading teams in fast-paced, customer driven environments, skilled in time management and boosting productivity and motivated to consistently achieve targets.”

- Yarm
The supermarket chain say working as a store assistant, “you’ll never find yourself bored and twiddling your thumbs on the till as a store assistant. In fact, time will fly by.”
Aldi colleagues have given some tips on how best to secure a role at one of their stores.
Deputy store manage, Jim Sandhu, said: “I’d suggest visiting your local store to watch the team and its daily running. This type of exercise can help candidates demonstrate their knowledge of the store, and display a sound understanding of how it operates.

“When applying for my role, I had a chat with the Store Manager, who kindly gave me some of their time, which put me in a very strong position in the interview as I was able to speak knowledgeably about how a store operates and identify some of the main challenges a Deputy Store Manager would face.”
Kelly stokes, recruitment director for Aldi, said: “We always want to see that applicants have done their homework, as that shows how invested an individual is in joining the business.
“We are currently in an ambitious growth period and are constantly on the lookout for people who are hungry to learn more about us and our ways of working.
“Candidates who put extra effort in when doing their research put themselves in a great position to start their application and their new career with Aldi.”
Aldi is looking for 31 store assistants across the North East and North Yorkshire.
