TWO people have died following a weekend crash in County Durham.
The incident is believed to have taken place at around 1.30am yesterday morning (Sunday, September 5) on the A688 bypass between Coxhoe and Bowburn roundabout.
A grey BMW has been travelling north from Bowburn Services, across the motorway interchange and up the A688 towards the A181, where it left the road and came to a stop in an adjacent field.

An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is now underway and Durham Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash.
- Anybody with dashcam footage of the BMW prior to the collision, or with information relating to the incident, is asked to contact Durham Police on 101, quoting incident number 121 of September 5.
