A MAN accused of carrying out a stabbing in another home, claims to have no recollection of being at the premises.

Brennan Lee Bryan is said to have entered the property in Crook where he is alleged to have stabbed a man, on August 1, this year.

Durham Crown Court was told the blow caused a serious internal injury.

Appearing at a plea hearing, the 22-year-old defendant, of West Chilton Terrace, Chilton, denied unlawfully and maliciously wounding, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Lewis Kerr, representing the defendant, told the court: “He has no recollection of being at the house and no recollection of stabbing someone.”

The knife said to have been used to inflict the wound was recovered at the scene.

A trial date in the case was agreed for the week starting January 10, next year.

The defendant was bailed to return to court for a pre-trial hearing on December 10.
