MORE than 60 classic cars filled the streets of Durham, drawing crowds to the city.
The display of cars, which dated from the pre-war period to the 1990s, proved a hit with visitors on Bank Holiday Monday.
Colin Wilkes, Durham Markets Company Colin Wilkes, who organised the event with Malcolm Vance: “It was great to see so many people in town, despite the weather. We are very pleased with the way it went."
Mr Vance said: "We were expecting 120 cars but when people looked out of the window and saw it drizzling decided not to come.
"It was still a good show. The cars were well spread out on Palace Green, in the Market Place and on Framwellgate Bridge."
The best car in the show was a 1959 Ford Consul driven by Jeanie Crann, who was joined by her husband Eddie driving a Ford Zodiac.
In the Market Place the best car was a Ford Escort RS.
Alongside the exhibitions, there was live music in the Market Place and Millennium Place and free activities for children.
On Sunday the first Durham Retro Day was held, combining a Vinyl Fair with a Vintage Market and live music.
