A FATHER and son hit the opposition for six, or rather 236, in a village cricket game.
John and Andrew Gedye both scored centuries playing for Aldbrough 2nds in the Darlington and District League.
Batting number two and three respectively, John, a teacher, and Andrew, a student, scored 236 runs between them, John hitting 124 and Andrew 111.
It was more than enough to see their team to victory in game against Middleton Tyas, taking Aldbrough to the top of Division C with only a few games remaining.
Seconds captain David Wilson said: “A father and son both scoring centuries in the same game while batting together is not something you see often in village cricket, or any competitive cricket in fact. John and Andrew were amazing and everyone at Aldbrough is delighted for them.
“Hopefully they can do it again in our remaining games and help us secure promotion this season.”
