AN 89 year-old man from York has died after crashing with on the A59 near Moor Monkton, police say.
The incident happened at around 5.10pm on Wednesday August 25 and involved three cars, a red Audi A3 travelling towards York, a black Audi Q5 and a silver Mini.

Police say the black Audi Q5 and silver Mini were both travelling in the opposite direction.
The 89 year-old driver was taken to hospital but sadly died, the driver of the mini sustained minor injuries and the Audi Q5 driver was uninjured.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of any of the vehicles involved before the crash or of the crash itself.

Specifically officers are appealing to anyone travelling along the A59 in both directions who has not already spoken to the police to get in touch if they witnessed the cars before or during the incident.
The road was closed to allow emergency services to attend to the casualties, for collision investigators to examine the scene and for the vehicles to be recovered. It reopened at around 2.45am this morning.
