THE online retailer, Amazon is offering new starters in the North East a £1,000 joining bonus - but you'll have to be quick.
The online retailer has advertised the attractive sum on its Fulfilment Associate roles at either its Bowburn site, near Durham, or new Gateshead site opening next month.
It comes as Amazon is soon set to have created more than 4,000 permanent jobs across the region since opening its first site in Darlington, last year.

But Amazon, which has said the offer will only last until the third week of September, is understood to be needing the workers to help meet a boom in online shopping demand.
In an advert for the role, it says workers are needed to help pick, pack and dispatch orders to customers, with pay starting at £10 an hour.
Deadline and how to apply
However, new starters will need to have started their role before September 18, 2021 to qualify for the pro-rata bonus.
According to the job ads, Amazon is offering “immediate starts with no experience needed” for many of the warehouse roles.
Amazon is not the only firm offering joining bonuses to attract much-needed workers, with firms such as Tesco and Asda offering lorry drivers £1,000 on sign up.
In recent months, firms across the UK have struggled amid a mounting hiring crisis with a shortage of HGV drivers, and hospitality seeing issues with recruitment after lockdown.
