A NORTH Yorkshire man has received a cut to the face in an assault on a beach after his dog got into an altercation.
The incident, which happened on Wednesday August 11 at around 4pm on Runswick Bay Beach, involved a man and a woman with their dog and three men walking three small dogs.

According to police the assault happened after the couple’s dog and one of the group's dogs were involved in an altercation.
The assault resulted in a cut to the victims face although no medical attention was needed.
The police are appealing to the public to help identify the three men in the group.
Particularly police say they are looking for the main suspect who is described as a white male, 5 foot 10 inches tall, aged in his late 30s, to early 40s, wearing a grey or black t-shirt and orange shorts.
He was accompanied by another two males and three small black dogs.

Police ask anyone who was on the beach at the time or has any information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2, and ask for Harvey Ross. You can also email harvey.ross@northyorkshire.police.uk.
