Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision involving a 10-year-old girl and a black car.

The incident happened around 1pm on Monday, August 9 on the A1085 Trunk Road, opposite the Buccaneer pub in Middlesbrough.

The black car came from the direction of Ormesby Road and turned left onto the Trunk Road in the direction of Middlesbrough.

The driver did not stop at the scene.

The girl fell to the floor before getting up and walking home in the company of a family member. She suffered bruising as a result of the incident.

Any witnesses or anyone with further information, dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to contact PC Paul Dixon on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 133067.
