A RECENT study has revealed the staycation locations in North Yorkshire and Yorkshire where people are spending the most money.
The study, carried out by Gambling.com, revealed that the Ryedale District nabbed the top spot as the staycation location where people spent the most money.
Only three locations in Yorkshire are performing well, and two of the top three are found in North Yorkshire, whereas other locations are seeing a drop in staycation spending.

According to the survey, the number of people booking holiday parks as part of their staycation has increased, rather than spending the money on recreational activities.
The Ryedale District is the top location where people are spending the most money with a 42 per cent increase in retail and recreational activity spending and a 68 per cent increase in holiday spending.
In second place came the Craven District which saw a 14 per cent increase in recreational spending, but a 114 per cent increase in holiday park spending.

Scarborough comes in third place with a 7 per cent increase in recreational spending, but a staggering 153 per cent increase in spending in holiday parks.
Coming in fifth is Harrogate with a 10 per cent reduction in recreational spending, but a 62 per cent increase in spends for holiday parks.
Richmondshire also saw a reduction in recreational spending at minus 11 per cent, but saw a 123 per cent increase in spending in holiday parks.

- Ryedale District: 42% recreational and 68% on holiday parks
- Craven District: 14% recreational and 114% on holiday parks
- Scarborough: 7% recreational and 153% on holiday parks
- Kirklees: -6% recreational and 40% on holiday parks
- Harrogate: -10% recreational and 62% on holiday parks
- Hambleton District: -10% recreational and 55% on holiday parks
- Calderdale: -10% recreational and -19% on holiday parks
- Richmondshire District: -11% recreational and 123% on holiday parks
- Selby: -11% recreational and 24% on holiday parks
- Bradford: -12% recreational and 18% on holiday parks
- Yorks: -13% recreational and 26% on holiday parks
- West Yorkshire: -15% recreational and 6% in holiday parks
- Wakefield District: -16% recreational and 5% in holiday parks
- Leeds District: -20% in recreational and 10% in holiday parks
