MOUNTAIN rescue team volunteers rushed to the aid of a cyclist who suffered head and neck injuries after falling off his bike at Dalby Forest.

The Scarborough and District Mountain Rescue Team were called to the forest on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesperson said: "The crew was called out by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to reports of a male mountain biker who had sustained head and neck injuries after falling from his bike in the jump park at Dixon’s Hollow.

"Reports also suggested a reduced level of consciousness immediately after the fall.

"After initial treatment at the site of the accident and due to the mechanism of injury he was placed in one of our full body vacuum mattresses before being carried, by the team, to the waiting ambulance."
