Tees Valley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said the results from the latest national GP Patient Survey, published by NHS England last week, show that patients across Tees Valley are in the main positive about the care they receive from their local GP practice, this is in spite of the growing demand on services and pandemic arrangements being in place.
Dave Gallagher, chief officer, NHS Tees Valley CCG, said: “I’m really pleased that primary care continues to be rated highly by patients providing a positive experience for people. The results are a good reflection on the hard work that all practice staff, from GPs, nurses, practice pharmacists, other healthcare professionals and other staff such as practice managers, receptionists and administrators, put in to provide patient-centred services in what has been and continues to be an unprecedented time.
“We recognise that there are areas for improvement, and this is something that the CCG is working on with GP practices by supporting a number of initiatives including online services to increase patient choice and improving how patients can access surgery appointments and services".
