A WOMAN accused of murdering Toni Butler has appeared in court this morning.
Keegan Barnes is accused of killing the 25-year-old in Thornaby last month.
The 28-year-old, who appeared via videolink from Low Newton prison, spoke only to confirm her name during the short hearing.
Cleveland Police were called to an address in Vulcan Way, Thornaby at 12.41pm on Thursday, June 10, by ambulance paramedics after a report that a woman had died.
A 15-year-old girl who was arrested at the time taken into custody for questioning has since been released, “with no further action”.
Judge Howard Crowson adjourned the case until December 6 when the 28-year-old is due to go on trial.
Barnes, of Vulcan Way, Thornaby, did not enter a plea during the hearing.
She was remanded in custody until her next appearance in court.
