SUPERMARKET staff have been tidying up the grounds of a hospital to help say thank you to the key workers who have kept going through the pandemic.
Workers from Sainsbury's in Duke Street, Darlington have also been picking up rubbish in Stanhope Park and the surrounding area.
Jo Robison, trading assistant, and litter pick organiser said: “Our first litter pick focused closely on Stanhope Park and the surrounding streets. It was a great success and we had positive feedback from both local residents and customers.
"We choose Darlington Memorial Hospital for our second litter pick as we wanted to thank our fellow key workers for everything they do, we are a very local shop to the hospital and we do have regular NHS customers who shop with us – even more so through the pandemic with being open 6am - 11pm daily.
"Although the hospital grounds are very well maintained we would still like to include it as part of our regular litter pick along with Stanhope park & surrounding area. And we’re delighted to help keep our town looking its best."
