A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured in a crash earlier today.

The incident happened as the man rode along the B6277 from Alston towards Middleton-in-Teesdale, near to Harwood, shortly after 2pm.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.

The man was taken to the RVI, in Newcastle.

Witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage from around the time of the incident, and has not yet spoken to officers, is urged to get in touch.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident reference 230 of June 23.
