The following cases were heard at Teesside and Cleveland Magistrates court this week.
JAMES DANIELS, 28 of Gramplan Drive in Peterlee was committed to prison for three months suspended for 18 months after being found in possession of a kitchen knife in a public place. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services, £85 to Crown Prosecution Services and the kitchen knife will be destroyed.
NATHAN WILES, 24 of Hartington Road in Stockton was given a community order and fined £320 after trespassing into a home intending to steal, interfering with a motor vehicle with the intention to steal that motor vehicle, interfering with another motor vehicle with intent to steal it and resisting a police constable. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £75 in compensation.
LISA TINGLE, 42 of Yarm Road in Stockton was given a community order after assaulting a man and damaged a mobile phone belonging to that someone. The defendant pleaded guilty to both charges.
MARK LYLE CAMPBELL, 34 of Beaconsfield Road in Stockton was given a community order after being caught in possession of a class B drug, assaulting a woman by beating her, wilfully obstructed a police constable and pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation, £95 to victim services and £310 to Crown Prosecution Service.
SEBASTIAN GREGORCZYK, 33 of Darnton Drive in Middlesbrough was given a community order after being caught in possession of a hammer in a public place and damaging a wooden gate, a plate and a BBQ to the value of £70 belonging to someone else. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.
JAMIE HUNT, 29 of Millpool Close in Hartlepool was fined £733 after wilfully obstructing a police constable, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £73 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.
KELLY SIMPSON, 42 of Garrick Court in Darlington was fined £200 and disqualified from driving for 12 months after driving a vehicle while under the influence of cocaine, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £34 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.
NORMAN ANTHONY AHMED, 26 of Grange Road in Hartlepool was committed to prison for two weeks after trespassing onto a property, threatening someone through a text message, threatened someone by telling them he would burn their house down, and damaging a television belonging to that same person to the value of £100. The defendant pleaded guilty to two charges and not guilty to two charges and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.
STEVEN ANDREW BROWN, 33 of Phoenix Park in Hemlington was committed to prison for 22 weeks after stealing cheese and ham to the value of £56.15 from Tesco, trespassing into a garden shed with intent to steal, was found in possession of a class B drug, stealing numerous pet items to the value of £120 from Pets at Home. These offences were committed while he was under a suspended sentence.
LEWIS HEIGHTON, 32 of Rylstone Court in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for seven days and disqualified from driving for 42 months after failing to provide a specimen of breath when asked to do so, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. The reason for imprisonment was due to him being in custody for other matters already. The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges.
ZOE SWAINSTON, 29 of Durham Road in Thorpe Thewles was given a community order after stealing three Yankee Candles, three wax melts and five greetings cards to the value of £59.50 from Tesco, being found in possession of a kitchen knife in a public place, and failing to surrender to Teesside Magistrates Court. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £40 to Crown Prosecution Service.
OTEGA UKUSARE, 22 of Aiden Court in Middlesbrough was fined £320 and disqualified from driving for 12 months after being driving under the influence of cannabis, being caught in possession of a class B drug, driving without insurance, and committing these offences while under a conditional discharge. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £34 to victim services and £40 to Crown Prosecution Service.
DEAN ROBINSON, 26 of Skinningrove in Saltburn was fined £220 after keeping an unlicensed vehicle and the rate of duty was £265 and back duty claimed was £66.25. The defendant pleaded not guilty and was made to pay £90 in court costs.
