A MOBILE testing unit for Covid-19 is opening tomorrow after moving from a different location.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is opening the mobile unit at Kirkleatham Street car park in central Redcar from Wednesday, June 2.
The site is a drive-through for people to book ahead and is for people who have symptoms of the coronavirus.
The mobile testing unit was previously in operation at Kirkleatham Walled Garden but is now being relocated.
Anyone who is experiencing Coronavirus symptoms should self-isolate immediately and arrange to get themselves tested by dialling 119 or visiting www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test.
Tests at Kirkleatham Street car park will be available from 9am to 3pm from Wednesdays to Sundays. Times may change depending on circumstances.
Drivers should follow the signs when approaching the site, which is located opposite the council’s Seafield House building, on the approach to the Redcar and Cleveland Community Heart civic centre.
Bookings for the morning appointments open at 6pm the day before. For the afternoon slot, they open at 8am on the day.
The symptoms of coronavirus are a high temperature, a new, continuous cough, or a loss or change to sense of smell or taste.
