A DALES-based bike club has extended its activities to include night riding thanks to an £800 grant from Richmondshire District Council.
The Wensleydale Bike Club bought six sets of bike lights with the cash funded through the authority’s Upper Dales Area Partnership scheme.
Based in Hawes, the club provides opportunities for children, young people and families to develop safe cycling skills, improve fitness and experience different cycling environments.
However despite having trained night riding instructors, it could not offer lights on the loan bikes – until this grant was awarded.
Richmondshire District Council’s five Area Partnerships each have £10,000 to award to local projects.
