RESIDENTS were urged to stay inside yesterday after firefighters were called to a large fire at an industrial estate in Stockton-on-Tees.
Thick black smoke could be seen pouring from Bowesfield Industrial Estate yesterday evening.
It is understood the fire started at around 5:45pm on Friday.
The cause is not yet known.
Around 15 fire crews tackled the blaze and surrounding residents were asked to remain inside and close all doors and windows.
