DURHAM COUNTY COUNCIL
From free courses in Maths and English, vocational courses to help you get the job that you want or more specialised courses that support people with special educational needs or disabilities, Durham County Council’s Adult Learning and Skills Service is the place to go.
Courses are available in person or online – through distance learning or through a virtual classroom.
A recent student on the Future Focus course commented: “This course allows you to learn new things and better yourself. I have learnt a lot of new skills, more than I ever thought I could, including writing my cv and practicing for interviews. It has really helped to build my confidence. For anyone thinking of taking up the course I would say definitely go for it! It is the best thing I have ever done and I have found the support from the tutors amazing.”
Whether you are just starting out, are looking to take the next step in your career or just want to learn something new there is a course for you. The new classroom based ‘Get Ready to Learn Online’ course has everything you will need to start your online learning journey, including how to download, edit, save and organise files. Maybe you fancy working in adult social care – their Care Academy offers over 30 courses to get you the skills you need, whatever your level.
