NORTH-EAST drivers should expect disruption on their commute this morning, with the A1 affected and the A689 in Sedgefield partially closed due to snow.
People across the region have woken up to a fresh blanket of white today, February 12, but scattered snowfall through the night means it is worse in some places and drivers should expect longer journey times.

A1 - Birtley
Heavy snowfall on A1 Western Bypass both ways between A1 and J65 A1(M) J65 (Birtley). First reported at 6.37am.
A1 - near Washington
Heavy snowfall on A1(M) both ways between J60 A689 (Bradbury) and J65 A1 Western Bypass J65 (Birtley). First reported at 6.37am.
A689 - Sedgefield
Heavy snowfall on A689 both ways in County Durham. First reported at 7.07am.
The A689 has been closed westbound between the junctions for the A177 (Esso Garage and Racecourse Roundabout) due to treacherous road conditions. Read more.

Heavy snowfall on A171 Cargo Fleet Lane both ways between Park Avenue North and Cranmore Road. First reported at 7.22am.
A171 - Guisborough
Heavy snowfall on A171 Middlesbrough Road both ways between Aislaby Lane and A173 (Windlebridge Roundabout). First reported at 7.22am.
A713 - Guisborough
Heavy snowfall on A173 both ways at Blind Lane. First reported at 7.07am.
A68 - Rowley
Heavy snowfall on A68 both ways between A68 and Drover Road. First reported at 7.22am.
