A MOUNTAIN Rescue team battled through the floods twice in one night to help two nurses reach their patient.
Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team was contacted on Wednesday evening to help a district nurse who needed to get through localised flooding in Loftus in order to attend a patient.
The team members transported the nurse to and from a property so that a patient could be treated, which took two hours to complete.
The crew remained on standby in case someone needed further assistance, and the team received another request from a different nurse to attend the same patient at 4am this morning.
Although the water level had dropped, the nurse couldn't reach the patient using their vehicle so the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team, again, transported the nurse two and from the property battling through the floods, which took them nearly two hours.
Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team is a volunteer organisation, providing 24-hour search and rescue.
