THIS week in Darlington Borough Council planning applications, a proposed development on land at Rose Lane in Darlington was announced.

The land could see the erection of a house with associated parking and amenity spaces.

According to the design and access statement for the application the site is an area of unused garden to the rear of 1 and 1a on Stockton Road, Darlington, and is overgrown and regularly used for fly tipping.

lIn road works this week, Darlington Borough Council is announcing the temporary road closure of Morton Park Way.

The closure will be from the north side of its junction with Morton Road northwards for 200 metres.

An alternative route will be signposted via Yarm Road, A66, Tornado Way.

The works are being carried out to install a drainage system and resurface the road and are set to be in place for a maximum of 18 months.

lMoreover, roadworks were announced which will close Jedburgh Drive from the western boundary of number 144 westwards for 15 metres.

An alternative route will be signed via Malvern Crescent and the works are expected to take a maximum of 18 months and the closure will be in place for three weeks from February 1.

The work will take place in order to install a drainage manhole.

lFurther to planning applications submitted to Darlington Borough Council this week, an application was submitted for the conversion of external stores into a garden room with alterations to windows and doors and two new rooflights.

The proposed work will be carried out on 2 Croft Road, Hurworth, Darlington.

lWork on Street Record on High Row in Darlington has also been submitted, with an external lighting scheme including the insertion of four inground spotlights at the base of a statue.

lAn application for works on The Market Building on West Row in Darlington has also been submitted.

The works consist of refurbishment, renovation and remodelling works which includes the removal of an existing canopy and the installation of a replacement awning and enclosure with glazed curtain wall to form an indoor temperate garden.

lA change of use from agriculture land to a dog walking facility has also been submitted for Bracks Farm in Heighington in Darlington.

lThe renewal for a licence of a sex establishment was submitted to Darlington Borough Council, to allow the continued use of the premise at 41-43 Grange Road in Darlington as a sex establishment.

lAlso in licences this week, someone applied for a licence to use Goldswain Transport Ltd, Ironmasters Way in Stockton as an operation centre for six vehicles and six trailers.
