TWO North-East brewers have been named amongst the step ten new breweries in the world.
Full Circle Brew Co, in Newcastle, and Alpha Delta Brewing, in Newburn, have been named amongst the top ten new breweries in the world according to RateBeer, an independent website where customers rate breweries and pubs.
The top ten list, based on customer reviews between June 1, 2019, and January 1, 2021, saw the region's popular newcomers up against brewers in Australia, Poland and America.
Full Circle Brew Co, which is the RateBeer's best new brewer in Tyne and Wear and 7th internationally, opened in Hoults Yard in 2019.
Posting on social media, the brewery wrote: "WOW! We've been awarded RateBeer's Best New Brewer in Tyne and Wear, and included in the Top 10 New Brewers in the World!"
Sharing merchandise to mark the occasion, it added: "Let's celebrate!"
Brewery fans congratulated the business, saying the accolade is well deserved.
Alpha Delta Brewing, also writing on social media and launched in 2019, announced the "huge" recognition and thanked customers.
The brewery, which ranked 9th, said: "WE GONE DONE A THING!
"To say 2020 was a rough year would be the biggest understatement of a lifetime.. However, little things like this make us smile and take heed of what we've achieved in our short time as a brewery.
"Made it in to the top 10 new breweries in the WORLD in the 2020 #ratebeer awards.
"Just want to extend a big thank you to everyone for your support.
"Not only is this huge for us, but huge for our lovely region, with #fullcircle rocking it too.
"Big shout outs also to #lhgbrewpub and #newbarns showing that the UK has some of the best damn beer out there.
"We'll be raising a can tonight. Cheers!"
Newbarns Brewery, in Edinburgh, and LHG Brewpub, in Bristol, were the two other British pubs to make the cut, ranking second and fourth respectively.
