THERE are a number of exciting venues set to open in Durham City within the next few months once lockdown restrictions are relaxed.
From a brand new Turkish restaurant to cafe specialising in serving up pancakes and deserts, a few new names will be popping up.
Although they are not able to open just yet, we're looking ahead at what we can expect to see in the city when we return to some sort of normality.

It comes as an independent coffee house, Mr Bojangles opened its doors to customers for takeaway several weeks ago.

Although this list is based on information published before Covid, we understand that all businesses listed remain set to open in the city.
1. Turtle Bay, Riverwalk
Describing itself as the "best Carribean restaurant" in Britain, Turtley Bay is set to open on the second floor of the Riverwalk development later this year.
2. Turkish Kitchen Meze & Grille, Saddler Street
A Turkish kitchen, bosses on social media have said the restaurant will serve a mix of breakfast, brunch and lunch to "everyone's tastes."
3. The Curious Mr Fox, Riverwalk
On the edge of the new Riverwalk development, The Curious Mr Fox has been seen in recent days undergoing work to open. It will be a cocktail bar and kitchen.
4. Flip & Stack, Riverwalk
Set to open later this year, Flip & Stack is described as an eaterie and coffee house and has suggested on social media it will start doing delivery too.
5. Delaney's Donkeys, Riverwalk
According to The Riverwalk development, the Irish Bar Delaney's Donkeys is set to open with bosses hinting that it is "coming soon."
The raft of planned openings comes as El Pincho in the Riverwalk , Frango Loja & Pizza Paddys on Saddler Street, and The Holy GrAle bar at St Margarets Garth are among the latest businesses to have already opened.
