DETECTIVES are issuing a further appeal for information following a serious two-car serious crash last Tuesday.
The collision happened shortly after 9am on the A688 at Keverstone Bank, near Staindrop, and involved a white Fiat Ducato van and a Nissan Juke.
Officers would like to speak to any motorists with dash cam footage who were driving on the A688 between Cockfield and County Bridge at Barnard Castle between 8.15am and 8.45am that morning.
In particular, they would like to hear from anyone who has dash cam footage of a white Fiat Ducato travelling in the direction of Bishop Auckland.
The woman driver of the Nissan and woman passenger in the Fiat were taken to hospital.
Anyone who can help is asked to call Detective Constable Helen Towns or Detective Sergeant Jo Wright, of Durham Police on 101.
A 36-year-old man has since been charged with attempted murder, causing serious injury by dangerous driving and assaulting an emergency service worker in connection with the incident.
Bradley Smith, of Gregson Terrace, Seaham, appeared before Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court on Saturday. He did not enter any pleas and was remanded in custody to appear at Newcastle Crown Court on February 15.
