A MOUNTAIN rescue team was called to assist a man who was taken ill at a popular walking spot.
Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team was called out at 1.23pm by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to help them with a man who had been taken ill at Roseberry Topping, near Guisborough.
A spokesperson for the team said: "A number of team members were deployed and when the first of them arrived at the scene they gave assistance to the man.
"A short time later he later was well enough to walk to the team’s Land Rover ambulance and was driven to a nearby farm where an ambulance was waiting.
"By then he declared himself fit enough to travel home so the mountain rescue team transported him and a relative back to their car to make their own way home."
