A NEW KFC has opened in the region today.
The restaurant on Essington Way, in Peterlee, creates 50 jobs for the local people including some who had been previously employed by the company prior to Covid19.
Its opening hours are 10.30am to 11pm and it is currently open for takeaway and delivery.
KFC bosses said a number of responsibility measures have been put in place, including extended hygiene procedures, Perspex screens, gloves, designated kitchen zones, face masks have been made available where required and contactless payment is encouraged.
Grant Roderickson, KFC Regional Coach, said: “This has been a hugely anticipated new restaurant and it’s great to be granting the people of Peterlee’s wishes by bringing the Colonel to town just in time for Christmas."
