EMERGENCY services have been dealing with a major fire at a council depot in the North-East.
The blaze broke out among 200 wheelie bins at a Stockton Council site in Billingham at around 6.30pm.
Huge plumes of thick black smoke could be seen for miles around, and crowds of nearby residents gathered to watch as the flames climbed high into the night.

Firefighters have been sent to the scene of the incident and it is understood the fire has been brought under control.
A Cleveland Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "The fire was in a council yard.
"It has now been extinguished but we are still on scene dampening down the flames and making sure there isn't any spread to the building.”
