A FURTHER 1,703 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the North-East and North Yorkshire in the last 24-hours.
There have been a total of 241 daily deaths within 28 days of positive test in the UK, bringing the total to 43,967.
Meanwhile a further 17 people were reported to have died with the virus at the region’s hospitals.
Three further patients died at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, while five people died at hospitals in Gateshead and four in South Tyneside and Sunderland.
A further three people died at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and two people at Newcastle hospitals.
North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust reported one death, as did Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust.
